Data rooms are a response to several written data requests from the buyer, the buyer's attorneys, and its accountants. The buyer may or may not combine these into a single list.
Because data room creation is mistakenly seen as a clerical task, and the buyer wishes to limit the circle of people "in the know", the task may be assigned to a lower-level individual either in seller's organization or from its investment bank.

Prices and Timing
Charges for creating data rooms are usually on a retainer basis, but may be charged hourly if that is the client's preference.
